Our Chapter History

Our Waco chapter grew because of a group of civic-minded Waco moms had a vision of strengthening that mother-daughter bond with their own daughters and after much research, the NCL Waco Chapter formed in December 2007.  Since that time we have adopted eleven local non-profit organizations that our members actively support through hands-on volunteer service.  In 2013 – 2014 alone, NCL Waco gave back almost $121,000 in volunteer service.  In the years since the charter for NCL Waco was granted, approximately $400,000 has been given back to the community in volunteer hours.

NCL Waco provides opportunities for mothers and daughters to enjoy both mother-daughter and peer relationships through philanthropic, leadership, and cultural activities. You will see that we are an active, committed group that fosters the bond between mother and daughter. We have become known as the “Girls/Ladies in Blue” (in reference to our blue t-shirts we wear when volunteering). NCL Waco, in 2012, was recognized as Outstanding Service Organization by the American Fundraising Professionals. The Waco chapter of this internationally recognized organization honored NCL Waco at an awards luncheon held at Ridgewood Country Club, November 2012 in honor of National Philanthropy Day.
